Early in May I was at Country Ways in Devon for the wedding of Nick and Bec. What a beautiful wedding this was, from first meeting the couple I knew their’s would be a wedding full of joy and a real family affair. Country Ways is a venue that I personally love. It is not just the beautiful views of the Devon countryside that make it special but also the relaxed feel of the place. Sue, the owner, really encourages you to make the place your own while you are staying for your wedding. You can have all your family around you in the little cottages dotted about and friends can pitch tents in the fields. Dogs are welcome too and Sue has plenty of her own animals for you to visit whilst you are there.
Nick and Bec wanted natural photo’s of the day and to include their hound Arty in some of the pictures. Nick a film maker himself asked if the images could give a keen sense of the glorious landscape around us, to say “here we are in Devon”. Thankfully we were blessed with sunshine, not too hot and occasional cloud to soften the light. The day before the wedding it was all hands on deck as family and friends help set up the marquee with lots of rustic furniture and cottage garden flowers. Nick and Bec also had an ice-cream cart for pudding after the hog roast (although a few guests decided that ice-cream was even nicer as a starter).
Bec looked beautiful and I was buzzing all day because I could see how in love Nick and Bec are and it was a joy to capture. Some weddings feel like you watching a romantic film and their’s was one such wedding. Here are my favourite photographs from the day.
