In September – my absolute favourite month for weddings – I photographed Vicky and Matt’s wedding at St Mellion International Resort. Having never been to the resort before I made a visit there in advance and was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful a setting it is. I had assumed with it being a golf course that we would have limited photo opportunities but a guided tour by golf buggy left us struggling to choose from the many potential backdrops.
Vicky looked stunning and I particularly loved the back detail of her dress. Whilst on the subject of dresses I also loved the blush colours of the bridesmaids dresses and Matt the groom looked very handsome in his pale blue waist-coated suit. The wedding ceremony was held at Ashwater parish church, a favourite church of mine (not least because it has plenty of parking) and the vicar was as ever very accommodating, giving both myself and the videographer access from the back of the church to capture the vows. Their were some lovely moments observed especially from one of Vicky’s younger bridesmaids who kept me entertained by pulling faces during the hymns.
The highlight of the day for me has to be capturing some portraits of Vicky and Matt just before Sunset, with the sunsetting earlier in September the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
