I have been lucky to photograph at a number of new wedding venues this year with the beautiful Polpier House, in Mevagissey, being one of them. Emma and Adam’s wedding was an intimate occasion with only 26 guests sharing the day.
Having met with Emma and Adam earlier in the year for an engagement session at Polpier house, I was already well aware of just how beautiful the gardens and location were for photos. I never like to think about the weather before a wedding day as I always look to make the best of it come rain or shine but I must admit I was praying we would have sunshine at Polpier, I knew an outdoor ceremony would be gorgeous and was excited about the gardens in the September light. After the ceremony had finished we were free to wander the grounds and capture images against the sunlit backdrop of Mevagissey harbour.
Emma of course looked beautiful! Her dress and flowers were perfect for the seaside location and the beach theme continued with the couple surprising their guests by serving local fish and chips for dinner. The wedding had very much a family feel with lots of little people being cast in the role of flower girl and enjoying the day every bit as much as the grown ups. It was just lovely for me to have plenty of time to relax into the day and capture the atmosphere, some weddings can feel rushed especially when guest numbers are high. I finished up with a few pictures of the first dance and popping outside to capture a few photos with the sun setting over Mevagissey.
Below are a few of my favourite pictures from the day.
