Last week I had the pleasure of being the photographer at Jon and Gemma’s Wedding at Ocean Kave. It was a joy to be back at the wonderful Ocean Kave, especially on such a glorious, sunny, spring day! The views out to sea from the gardens at the Kave are spectacular and Gemma was a joy to photograph, so beautiful and calm. In fact Gemma was so relaxed, that I was surprised when her lovely mum told me later that she doesn’t like to be photographed, as she seemed to take it all in her stride.
The whole wedding had a lovely gentle pace to it. Gemma’s dad who has passed away was very much a part of the day, the colour orange – his favourite – was a theme and Gemma’s cousin had given her a little picture of him, to secure to her bouquet, so that she could carry him with her all day long.
The highlight of the day for me would be when we took a little trip, after the meal, down to the coast path for a few more couple shots. Gemma had forgotten to change out of her Christian Louboutin shoes but she just laughed it off as she picked her way along the stony path. The light was so lovely and low, it made the sea looked as if it was filled with glitter.
So Gemma and Jon I want to say thank you for asking me to capture your wedding day and I wish you every happiness in your future together.
