My last wedding before an Autumn break was at the beautiful Millbrook Estate. When I first spoke to Gill on the phone she explained that she wanted the photography to not be too formal but to capture the important parts of the day in a natural, candid way – also conveying the beauty of Millbrook. As we talked a little more about photography she mentioned she had 3 whippets. I am an owner of a much adored Deerhound Lurcher so it was at this point I started to gush (and gush some more) about my love of sighthounds. I could completely understand that they would want the whippets to be part of the day and I was very keen for Gill and Nigel to book me for their wedding.
On arriving at Millbrook the weather was simply perfect, late September sun (low and golden) and a hint of Autumn in the breeze. I met with Gill and Nigel whilst they waited for the registrar and said hello to the Whippets. Each hound had a new collar for the day and Gill looked beautiful in her floral dress, Nigel looking smart in tweed.
After the ceremony we wandered the grounds, taking photos in places where I knew the light would be particularly stunning. I smiled to myself many times aware of how much I was enjoying Gill and Nigel’s company as they were patiently answering my endless questions about the Whippets – did I mention I am sighthound obsessed?
So Gill and Nigel thank you so much for letting me capture your day at Millbrook Estate and for letting me share a few of your photos on my blog. I wish you and the Whippets a very happy future together.
