As a Cornwall wedding photographer I get to visit some stunning locations in my work such as beautiful Mevagissey. Mevagissey is a fishing village in Cornwall which still has a small working harbour. Mevagissey is a wonderful place to host your wedding as it is full of old world charm including pretty cob and slate buildings and many narrow streets that were once echoing with the footsteps of cornish smugglers. Of course nothing could be more special than views of the sea on your wedding day and local venue Polpier House, set high above the village can certainly provide those. Mevagissey harbour can also provide your wedding supper if you fancy breaking with tradition and having Fish and Chips for your wedding meal. My lovely couple Emma and Adam did exactly that and the quality of the fish was superb.
Mevagissey is close to the beaches of St Austell Bay and Polstreath beach both boasting golden sands and thus perfect for wedding photos. Being so picturesque the village can get very busy in high summer and driving around the narrow streets can be quite challenging for guests and photographers alike. It is well worth waiting till later in the evening for a trip to the beach when the light will be low and golden and the crowds have dispersed.
