In June I was the wedding photographer for Ellie and Matt’s wedding at Launcells Barton Cornwall. An elegant venue because of its lovingly restored country house and barns and also relaxed because of the stunning countryside that surrounds it. I have watched Launcells Barton evolve from when owners Lara and Matt first started weddings a year ago. They have done a wonderful job through sheer grit and determination to see their vision to completion. Launcells Barton particularly appeals to me because I know that it has a wealth of beautiful backdrops both inside and out so I never fret about a wet weather plan!
Ellie and Matt wanted their day to be relaxed and personal which was reflected in Ellie taking time to select so many pretty details for big guests to enjoy and a bouncy castle to keep the little guests happy. I loved how friends were sat on the lawn in little groups while they enjoyed Pimms and Prosecco. The theme was rose gold and geometrics and I have to say the rose gold was a perfect complement to the flowers in the garden and the stone of the barns. The weather was definitely a talking point. Working in 30 degree heat wasn’t as tricky as I had feared and for the first time I had actually listened to my husband and made sure I drank lots of water!
The day ran at a very relaxed pace which was just as well as no one was moving fast in the heat. After the meal the lovely evening light meant we were able to go down to the church yard which is right next to the main house. It’s another beautiful setting for photos. My highlight of the day has to be the bride and bridesmaids hitting the bouncy castle without any encouragement from me.
Ellie looked absolutely stunning and was a joy to photograph from every angle. It was a beautiful wedding and I was chuffed to be the photographer capturing it.
